Cassandra

The heat of the sun streams through the windows. When I open my eyes, I take in the beautiful view from the bed. “Good morning beautiful,” I roll over to meet green eyes peering at me.

“Hi. I feel like a bus ran over me.” My voice is croaky, and he smiles.

“You’re cute.” I groan, I don’t feel cute at all. Last night was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders when I told him about my past. The fact that he’s still here is not lost on me. I can’t believe he stayed. He now has a girlfriend with a crazy past. There was a small detail that I left out. I shouldn’t have, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell him. Not yet, we needed to get over the initial shock of everything. Or maybe he would never need to learn the ugly secret that has left me broken for so long. After his confession, this would probably hurt him way too much.

“Thank you for your honesty and letting me in Cassie, I love you.” He pressed a kiss on the tip of my nose. Guilt rose in my chest. I should just tell him now. He will never forgive you. Just let it go.

“I love you too, Lucien. I need to call Kenna. She’s probably worried.” My phone has been off all night, I grab it and turn it on. There are a few messages and 2 missed calls. One is from Dr. Kessel. I will listen to her voice message later. The past is the last thing I want to think about right now. I open my messages and hit reply to Kenna’s latest one.

"Yes, I have an idea. There’s somewhere I want to take you today. You will love it. The arrangements have to be made first." Lucien rolls out of bed and I immediately miss his warmth. My gaze rakes in his naked toned body, the smooth tanned skin has me aching again. I can’t help wanting him all the time. As soon as he’s disappeared into the bathroom, I turn my attention back to my phone, and type out a reply to Kenna.
